Zusammenfassung
Diamond is not only an important gemstone but also a promising material for a variety of quantum applications, such as quantum information processing, communication and sensing. We will discuss how the spin associated with individual dopant atoms can be initialised, controlled, and read out on single atoms level. We will also present a scalable quantum register consisting of strongly dipolarly coupled electron spins associated with electron and nuclear spins. Elements of quantum networks and quantum light-matter interfaces enabled by single colour centres will be presented. Finally, we will discuss the applications of diamond spin qubits for quantum sensing, with a special focus on biomedical applications.
